THE ROBERT W. WHITAKER ARCHIVE

I REPEAT: POWER IS RESPONSIBILITY | 2005-03-30

I have never met any other Christian who feels the slightest guilt about how Christians caused so much agony and death by retarding medicine.

I repeat: when Jenner introduced vaccination against smallpox, every preacher in London denounced him. They caused thousands of deaths and, worse, they caused thousands of people to go through life horribly scarred and often crippled by small pox.

Who took Schiavo off of life support? Who put her ON life support?

This is going to make "Christians" furious. No other anti-liberal is going to ask it because asking this question alienates the "Christian" right.

That is the reason Bob Whitaker is here. I will not back down for popularity with ANYBODY.

RE: <i>I will not back down for popularity with ANYBODY.</i>

So you prefer honesty and common sense ahead of the positions taken by esteemed Ideologues?

I must confess that it is beyond my intellectual capabilities to understand the arguments used by the "Christian" right. Mathematics is, believe me, simple by comparison.

That's because what you say is not generally true.

It really matters where you get your history from. You of all people know that.

"Who took Schiavo off of life support? Who put her ON life support?"

White people. (Although, she was not on life support.)

White Christians were a part of the medical industry that made her continued life possible after what is most likely attempted murder.

But they are no more to be guilty about it than your question above.

I am not guilty nor have I ever been guilty that European whites took and built America, and the Indian really just merely conquered. The blacks are here because their black people stole them from neighboring tribes and sold them to Muslim (predominately) and non-Muslim business owners.

From reading your many works, when you use the term "Christian" I see it as a culture label. America is Christian. But most of those so labeled are not believers on and in and through Jesus Christ.

Again, semantics, language, the truth, is everything.

P.S.

<blockquote>This is going to make <b>"Christians"</b> furious. No other anti-liberal is going to ask it because asking this question alienates the <b>"Christian"</b> right.</blockquote>

I did note *your* distinction, Bob - and appreciate it. We need to hone our points. It was not generally "Christians" who have researched the bogus PC priesthood vaccine science myths. But your points are well-taken that it is the priesthood of a religion that overrules the truth -- for a time. God has never had a problem with scrutiny, Himself.

Recently a friend of mine, with a stronger religious attachment than I have, told me: "You live more like a Christian than most people I know who make a big deal out of their religion." Now what on earth did he mean by that?

I am a connoisseur of the message boards in front of churches. Recently I saw one which on one side said: "Have you hugged your child today?"

On the other side it said: "Have you burned anyone at the stake today?"

<blockquote><em>I must confess that it is beyond my intellectual capabilities to understand the arguments used by the "Christian" right. Mathematics is, believe me, simple by comparison.</em></blockquote>

The problem is that your trying to use your "intellectual capabilities." You have to use your <b>imagination</b>. Why do you think they always push the need for children to develop their imaginations? Mine has plenty and I haven't encouraged it at all.

HS, the reason that Christ said the High Priest was damned was because he was proud of his virtue, while the money lender, who was sincerely repentant, was saved.

As I say, no "Christian" ever admits they were just plain wrong. That bothers me.

I want to thank commenters for not getting nasty.

Disagree, correct, but always remember that we are ALL the good guys.

RE: You have to use your imagination.

I try, Mike, I try.

I keep a copy of "Alice in Wonderland" on my nightstand.

HS, as always, makes good points.

I want to repeat, HS (although you quoted above), to always note the quotes around the word "Christian." A "Christian" is not a Christian.

The worst enemy Christianity has is the "Christian." One of my ever continuing themes is that the person who claims to champion Free Speech is usually the worst enemy free speech has.

I am a very simplistic person.

RE: The worst enemy Christianity has is the "Christian."

Relevant quotes:

"By their fruit shall ye know them."

"Methink you doth protest too much."

"Have you burned someone at the stake today?"

I taught at a "Christian" school for a semester.

Most of the "Christians" there couldn't stand me

because I'm not a "Christian."

I've always been a fan of homeschooling and this

experience made me even more of one.

I try my best to LIVE a Christian life.
