When a white American speaks about Europeans, doesn't he realize he's speaking about himself?

I am speaking here as a profesional propagandist and not as a social critic. I have heard Norwegian and Danes and Swedes talk about their different national characteristics. The mentality a politician has to deal with in each country is subtlety different in each case. The same is very true from state to state in the US.
In my own family I will speak to one of my own brothers differently from the way I would speak to another brother to convince him of the same thing. It's all in the family, but not every member of your family is the same.
I married a European woman. I have spoken European languages. I see what strikes me as a difference that might make your job a bit harder.
If it isn't true, neither of us should lose any sleep over it.
