THE ROBERT W. WHITAKER ARCHIVE

JOE ORORKE | 2006-08-05

Think mderpelding's got you buffaloed, Bob. Must be a professor. Check that piece out a little bit and you'll find a little crap floating around in there. But he buffaloed you with pieces of crap. "Materialistic Christianity." Right. It's kind of funny to see you folding under all this verbal pummeling, Bob. But it's still your basic professorial crap. You should be able to deal with that. You wrote a book on professorial crapshooters, didn't you?

MY OBSERVATION:

You're damned right that mderpelding hit me sideways. He said so much that I know is true!

When I demanded comments like this LibAnon warned me that I was looking for people on my own intellectual level. He said there weren't any.

When was the last time YOU got a compliment like that, Joe?

Joe, you are a mean old bastard just like I am. You've been through what I've been through. You give me hell, and I would be very worried if you didn't.

But being bufalloed is what I'm LOOKING for. I think the people I want here SHOULD mostly tell me I'm right and admire my courage and perverseness.

You have been advocating Tough Guy surrender since you got here. We are both hard, crusty old men who have been through it all and never surrendered.

The difference is that I'm not a BITTER old warrior the way you are.

Instead of trying to justify the way things are, you say our enemies are beneath contempt. You don't hide behind the rationalizations of "The Greatest Generation" that JUSTIFIES the disaster we are in the middle of. You get kicked inthe teeth, but, unlike so many bitter old men, you don't pretend to LIKE it.

Joe Rorke and I have a grand total of ONE disagreement. Joe says I am engaged in nothing but intellectual masterbation and I think I am encouraging the kind of intellectual fighting back that will WIN.

Long live Joe!

Even if he is a dyed-in-the-wool Son of a Bitch.

NOT EVEN POTTED MEAT

"Even if he is a dyed-in-the-wool Son of a Bitch."

Interesting bit of metaphor mixing here.

"Dyed in the wool" sounds a bit like Joe's a lamb.

His words don't remind me of a lamb's bleating,

but then again, we raised cattle and a few horses when I grew up --

not sheep, so what do I know? Perhaps, "dyed in the goatskin" would

be more correct, but then no one would understand what you

were saying. And as such, goats have gotten a bad rap over

the years; aside from eating everythig in sight and smelling bad,

they are quite loveable, loyal, and tasty little critters. Goat's

milk is good for people who are lactose intolerant and if you'd like a

pet who will follow you around all day, this furry little beast is

right up your ally.

"Son of a bitch" is a particularly distasteful phrase. I have

known women -- welfare white-trash in particular females -- that I would not

want to be anyone's mother (although, as Harvey Danger once sang, "only

stupid people are breeding"; I'm reminded that welfare and motherhood

go hand in hand). And I have known many, many female

dogs that are smarter, more capable, and industrious than the aforementioned

bloated welfare leaches. And do I even have to say what an insult to

our canine friends the term "son of a bitch" prounounces?

About 6 years ago I discovered the

internet and got interested in the

"why's" of the world. Read lots of stuff,

thousands of words a day. Mostly chaff.

Then I got linked to this site, and started

reading Whitakers articles and worldview. I

read them and re-read them. Some of them

shook me up a bit, but it was like reaching

fresh air after spending a lifetime in a

dungeon.

I am trying to write what I see, as a bystander.

I don't do fancy arguments, leave that for the

Philosophers.

If you have a problem with a term, either say

why objectively or suggest a more appropriate

word.

If you wish to engage in name calling, go back to

the third grade.

This fight is for adults.

Good day, gentlemen.

Bob, you know those last two sentences of your piece don't bother me a bit. You don't offend me. No offense is taken here. I thought it was funny as all get out. What offends me deeply is all those dead kids and other civilians in Lebanon. I have no time or inclination to be offended by words that might offend little tiny men. Interestingly, I notice you are taking an interest in words here lately. Wouldn't be because Ole Joe kept pointing the importance of words out to you, would it? Now it's not a "reply" it's an "observation." Well, as long as you're learning, Bob, that's a good thing.

If you've noticed, Bob, I'm giving you every opportunity to delete me on sight. I could be writing into the wind. But that's what I do anyway. Just to give my arthritic hands some exercise. On the other hand, maybe I've been around long enough to the point where you know I'm not spam.

"Long live Joe! Even if he is a dyed-in-the-wool son of a bitch!" Now tell me that isn't funny. I think it's very funny. I hope nobody thinks I take it seriously or as some kind of an insult. I don't. This is just two Irishmen whacking at each other now and again. It don't mean nuthin'.
