David Irving Makes the New year a Happy One!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
David Duke went to the Iran Conference on the Holocaust and came back to raise hell with O'Reilly and Wolf Blitzer and the rest about people like David Irving being political prisoners of Political Correctness in Europe.
A week or so after David returned from Iran, after some sixteen months of a three-year sentence in Austria for underestimating the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust, David Irving was released.
I am sure that someone in David Irving's defense team could explain this in terms of developing news on that front. But I have been in this hard-core political and legal world a long time. I WROTE laws, you know.
The idea of imprisoning a man for expressing a disagreement about history is insane. But NO ONE was going to make Irving's case PUBLIC. David Duke did.
Just before irving was released.
So within a week after David came back from Iran, nose-to-nose with all the respectable conservative lynch mob that wanted to keep that "respectable" label by leading the lynch mob against all "Holocaust deniers," David Irving was released.
David Irving will NEVER give David Duke credit for this.
God knows, David Irving will never give ME any credit for this.
But I remember the first time I met David Duke in Moscow. The first thing I noticed was that Dr. Duke was, by signs ye heathens know not, the kind of professional politico who would hire me. We felt right at home with each other.
A little explanation: a professional politico trusts nobody but his staff. But he's GOT to have a staff. I am a professional staffer. I am also a Southerner, an older Southerner than Dave. Dave has had no reason to trust anybody, but he took my loyalty for granted from the word Go.
Which means Dave knows what he is doing.
DUH!
Long before the conference the Iranians invited me, subject to a complete draft of my speech. As usual, I asked Kelso to review my speech and he gave me the advice I needed. By the time it went to Tehran, it was perfect.
The ONLY point the speech made, by the time Kelso finished with it, was that it was crazy for the West to talk about crushing Iran for freedom when we had political prisoners like David Irving.
They invited me to Iran and they said they would pay for the trip, get the visa, and set me up in a fine hotel. I did not accept, and that is a different story.
So I had a submitted a speech to Theran that got me an invitation cum laude. I set a theme in my speech that both Dr. Duke and the President of Iran used. My theme was that it is crazy for the West to talk about invading or bombing Iran for freedom of speech if they openly imprisoned the David Irvings for disagreeing with their version of history.
Now it is quite possible that David and Iran COULD have set that theme without encouragement from me. It COULD be that David would have abandoned the mass of information he has about Zionist rule over our politics.
Instead, Duke did not let Blitzer take a breath without being accused of suppressing all disagreement. David Irving was his prime example.
When David got to Tehran, the theme was already "Champions of free speech are welcome here!" Iran was already requesting countries to which attendees would return not to prosecute them.
Given the speech I gave them, that COULD have been a coincidence.
So let's go through a complicated chain. David took my advice, which the Iranians, who really DO have problem dealing with West, had also taken. But I had made the advice on target by having Kelso check me out.
So we find David "dependent" on me and me "dependent" on Kelso. You could say that Iran just took my advice because I had a hell of a lot of credentials about understanding a culture they do NOT understand.
Or Iran figured this was pretty good stuff. Maybe the people who rule Iran are smart.
In other words, if you want to, you could say everybody was a patsy.
You could translate this a different way. You could say that David knows what makes sense and he knows who to trust. He is aware that I know the game very, very well. I am smart enough to realize that Kelso is a great consult.
Iran took a look at my-Kelso's advice and said, "Makes sense."
In the end, who deserves praise for the release of David Irving on that suspiciously coincidental day? David Duke, who led the charge about the hypocrisy of "free countries" that imprison heresy in history? Me, whom David and Iran MAY have used as a highly professional staffer should be used?
Or David?
Or, as Irving's defense team may say, was it a coincidence that he was released by their strategy right after Duke made this international news?
The credit is not as important as the LESSON. I knew Pat Buchanan (though he speaks to me no more). My problem with his being president was that he had never HIRED STAFF. You cannot be the Chief Executive of anything unless you know how to hire and use staff.
I was essential to Dave. Kelso was essential to me and I am essential to Kelso. You may think we fight each other all the time, but when it comes to the essentials, we are a team.
As of midnight, January 1, 2007 David Irving is free.
And I am sure I speak for David Duke, James Kelso, and I sure as hell speak for ME when I say;
Congratulations, David Irving, you have made this a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
